By now you have probably heard about Under Armour cutting ties with the Bowmar family, specifically Sarah Bowmar for doing, of all things, what she is sponsored for doing (well, technically she was FILMING)!? Gasp!

Hmmmm.....

With the anti's out in full force and Under Armour quickly caving to a little pressure, the Backcountry Boss crew weighs in on the subject one by one.

Wade Richards

Maybe I am a little blunt but- If you don't like hunting then don't watch hunting videos!? Under Armour should be ashamed of giving in to anti-hunting smears from the politically correct news media. Either support hunting or don't.

I won't support a group that makes millions off of hunters while condemning hunting.

The worst support hunters can have is a high profile company that bases decisions on political correctness.

Good shot Josh Bowmar! If I was there I would fist pump with you! I believe that was an ethical kill. I constantly practice and prepare for hunting so that I know what I can accomplish ethically in the field. We as hunters should always test ourselves and know our skill level. Practice and confidence creates ethical hunting.

Shellie McCarthy

Wow. What a disappointment.

I have always been a consumer of Under Armours products both athletic and hunting

Harvest =kill.

When we harvest animals we kill and consume them. As a sportsman/woman I vow to take that harvest legally and ethically. Personally I work hard to ensure I can make a clean quick kill. Death is not pretty, but it is necessary. It's a huge part of life. It's the circle of life and we are not above this circle. We are in it!

So many Anti hunters believe they sit far above this circle...casting down judgement on those who kill, telling us hunters HOW we should harvest our animals. Does it matter that OUR meat is not killed in a feedlot? Warehouse? With a bow, spear, shot gun, rifle, or snare? What is the difference? Again, Harvest=KILL.

We as hunters need to protect our rights by sticking together and supporting each other's methods of harvest while carrying a strong conviction of ethics and representing each other with pride.

Bad move Under Armour.

It's a very sad day when a company that openly supports the hunting community with products, advertisement, and other such marketing tools, decides to take actions against everything they've previously promoted.

It really comes down to a lack of education for those that are against hunting for whatever ethical reasons. Without a knowledge base of how weapons work, or what it takes to humanely take an animal of this caliber for supporting our families, they really have no right to participate in arguments for or against either side.

The arguments will always remain, just as they will always exist for sexism, racism, political, religion, etc. There will never be a time when either side of an argument can become educated enough for the opponents point of view to make a warranted opinion valid or supported. We find through the actions of Under Armor in this situation to be all about not offending someone for fear of loss of business, customer support, or anything of that sort. It is too bad that we as a society can't respect one another to be able to refrain from pushing our beliefs or ways of life on one another.

From my experience in the hunting world, I've never seen hate mail go out in return to anti hunters for how badly they've treated us or how disgusting the things they say or accuse us of are. But it doesn't take more than 1 second for an anti hunter to lash out maliciously to someone that was doing nothing different than what we've been doing since the beginning of time.

I hope we can come together as hunters to back up our fellow sportsmen in suffrage of such inappropriate actions taken by the anti hunting community.

Here I sit, shaking my head!

I just watched the amazing footage of Josh Bowmar making and amazing spear kill!

This was a great shot on an awesome animal, a shot that every hunter dreams of...ethical and quick. A shot that, I'm certain was practiced for many hours in order to get such precision (never mind the hours in the gym to gain the arm strength to have that much power).

I do not know this hunting couple but I do know what it takes to pursue big game and I do know that the ability to get this close to a bear in the wild, and then to effectively close the deal with a spear, is nothing short of amazing. Probably a once in a lifetime deal. My hats off to you friend, great job.

Thumbs down to the absurdity of "Under Armour." Stand up for the UA Hunt brand and the people you have chosen to represent that brand. You chose this couple for a reason, and I say couple because if you just chose Sarah you wouldn't have pulled your support since she didn't make the outstanding shot on the bear!

Your complete short sidedness to this whole issue makes me second guess why you even make camouflage clothing and pursuit footwear for hunting? If you're not going to support your hunters then why spend millions of dollors developing that line of clothing?

The only logical reason I can come up is money.

Sportsman spend billions of dollors every year on hunting gear. So you want me to spend my had earned money on your imported items on a sport you don't support? Not going to happen. I will not spend another dime with Under Armour when I can spend my money with organizations that will support and rally behind the true outdoorsman/women of this country.

Shame on you Under Armor.

In addition...it's disgusting that public anti-hunting opinion can affect hunting and conservation when the hunters are the biggest conservation group out there. Then again, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, right? But I'm sure those squeaky wheels will start buying your camo since the hunters of this nation will surely stop.
