ABOUT The Boss

I have been hunting my entire life.  Being outdoors and in the Backcountry is a place that brings me peace and just makes everything feel right.

My most faint memories are of my parents , aunt and grandma all going for the opening week of deer season every year.  Later, my dad and aunt would be go elk hunting. When I was old enough to go on the hunts it was my job to carry all the extra stuff that we may or may not use (and yes, I still pack whatever I 'may' need).  We always had deer or elk meat in the freezer. We were always meat hunters first, not necessarily looking for the trophy... there weren't too many 2 and 3 pointers and bulls and cows that my family passed up. With that being said, my dad has his share of nice deer and elk on the wall.

I took my first deer at 12 years old; which at that time was the youngest you could be in Oregon to shoot something and this deer is still hanging on my wall today. I shot my first raghorn bull elk at 18 right before leaving for the military....it's a feeling that is unexplainable. I always went hunting but didn’t always get a chance to shoot.

My true passion is hunting. Planning the hunt, scouting the hunt, anticipating the hunt, the hunt, and finally talking about the hunt, I love every aspect!  It's the entire process that closeness to nature and the humble feeling that comes from being in the wild.  My dad passed on the passion for hunting and I am thankful for that...it is a passion and a respect that I hope to pass on to my children.

Enjoy the site and please SHARE your photos and stories, this site is not meant to be about me...it's meant to be about you and about nature and the never-ending pursuit that we are responsible for protecting and passing on to future generations.

Now...go find a TOAD!
